NYIT Poster
A Poster created for the Winter Show in New York Institute of Technology.
Initial Concept
This stage presents the first sketch created for the poster. The goal was to reinterpret the NYIT bear as a representation of the school. In this concept, the bear rides a hoverboard alongside the school’s slogan: “Do. Make. Innovate. Reinvent the Future.”
Line Art Process
Based on the previous concept sketch, I was able to start the line art of the bear and it was completed in that way. The hoverboard did go through some literations of being a skateboard or a hoverboard. Eventually it did stick to being a hoverboard in the final design.
Final Iteration
After finalizing the hoverboard, color choices for the bear were explored. Although NYIT’s mascot is traditionally a yellow bear, recreating this into a realistic and cohesive design proved difficult. As a result, the final design features a brown bear, which provided a more natural and visually appealing outcome.
